- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups onions, sliced
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 4 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- Add the sliced onions, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper on top of the chicken.
- Pour the chicken broth over the mixture.
- Cover and cook on low for about 6-7 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- During the last 15 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the shredded Gruyère cheese and crumbled turkey bacon on top, cover, and allow to melt.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of white wine to the broth.
- Serve with crusty bread to soak up the flavorful broth.
