Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 3 large carrots, sliced
  • 3 potatoes, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine beef, broth, carrots, potatoes, onion, garlic, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or until the beef is tender.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and melted butter, stirring until combined.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the dough mixture into the stew during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  5. Add frozen peas in the last 10 minutes of cooking.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
