Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef flank steak
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef flank steak into thin strips and place in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Pour the mixture over the beef.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli florets to the slow cooker.
  5. To thicken the sauce, mix cornstarch and water to form a slurry, then stir into the sauce. Cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  6. Serve over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the beef in the sauce overnight.
  • Serve with sesame seeds for garnish.
