- 1 head cabbage, chopped
- 6 slices turkey bacon, chopped
- 1 large onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cups egg noodles
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- In the slow cooker, combine chopped cabbage, turkey bacon, onion, garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Drizzle with olive oil and stir to combine the ingredients.
- Pour in the chicken broth and mix well.
- Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or until the cabbage is tender.
- About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the egg noodles and continue to cook until noodles are soft.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, substitute turkey bacon with smoked tempeh.
- This recipe can easily be doubled for larger gatherings.
