Ingredients

  • 3 pounds beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the brisket with salt and pepper.
  2. Brown the brisket on both sides in the skillet, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  3. Transfer the brisket to a slow cooker and add the onions, garlic, beef broth, thyme, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the meat is tender.
  5. Once cooked, remove the brisket and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve with the cooking juices poured over the top.
