- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup onions, diced
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced
- 1/2 cup celery, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups seafood stock
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- In a large pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add the onions, green bell pepper, and celery. Sauté until the vegetables are tender.
- Add garlic and sauté for another minute.
- Stir in the flour and cook for a few minutes until it turns a golden color.
- Add the seafood stock, tomato paste, and Cajun seasoning. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the shrimp and cook until they are pink and opaque.
- Season with salt to taste.
- Serve over cooked rice, garnished with green onions and parsley.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the dish.
- Feel free to substitute shrimp with other seafood like crawfish or crab.
