- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound turkey bacon, chopped
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully remove the core from the cabbage and boil the whole head in a large pot of water until the leaves are tender.
- In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon and onion until the bacon is crispy and the onion is soft.
- Add the ground beef, garlic, rice, salt, and pepper, and cook until the beef is browned.
- Remove the cabbage from the pot and separate the leaves. Place a generous amount of filling in each leaf and roll tightly, tucking in the sides.
- Place the rolls seam-side down in a baking dish.
- Mix the tomato sauce and water, then pour over the cabbage rolls.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 1 hour.
Notes
- Try serving with a side of sour cream for added flavor.
- You can also add spices like paprika or Italian seasoning for extra depth.
