- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
- Add ground beef, cooking until browned; drain excess fat.
- In a large bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup and milk. Stir in cooked beef mixture.
- Layer half the potatoes in a greased baking dish, cover with half the beef mixture, then half of the cheese.
- Repeat the layers, finishing with cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
- Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to add vegetables like peas or corn for extra flavor.
- You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter version.
