- 1 head cabbage, chopped
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 8 slices turkey bacon, chopped
- 1 cup rice, uncooked
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy.
- In a large bowl, mix together the chopped cabbage, ground turkey, cooked turkey bacon, rice, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and seasonings.
- Transfer the mixture to the crockpot and spread evenly.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours until cabbage is tender and rice is cooked.
- Stir before serving and enjoy!
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey with another protein if preferred.
- This casserole can be easily made vegetarian by replacing meat with lentils.
