- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups potatoes, sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion until fully cooked.
- In a large bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Layer half the sliced potatoes in a greased casserole dish.
- Add half of the cooked beef mixture, then half of the cheese.
- Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef, and cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
Notes
- For added flavor, use different cheese kinds.
- Can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
