- 1 head cabbage
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound beef sausage, casings removed
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Add the beef sausage and cook until browned. Stir in the shrimp, Cajun seasoning, cooked rice, and diced tomatoes. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Carefully remove the core from the cabbage and blanch the leaves in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- Place a spoonful of the shrimp and sausage mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly.
- Place the stuffed cabbage in a baking dish and cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the top is slightly crispy.
Notes
- Serve with a side of hot sauce for extra heat.
- Try adding different vegetables to the stuffing for variation.
