This lamb steak recipe is a fantastic option for a tender, juicy, and flavorful dinner. It’s paired with grilled asparagus and is perfect for cooking a quick meal for one. Marinating the lamb steak in yogurt not only tenderizes the meat but also adds a layer of flavor, making it a juicy and delicious dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon plain yogurt
- 4 oz lamb steak
- 1 teaspoon lemon pepper
- 10 stalks asparagus (and other vegetables if desired)
- ½ whole lemon
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano or marjoram
Instructions
- Marinate the 4 oz lamb steak in 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt for 15 minutes to two hours before grilling.
- After the lamb has rested, remove excess yogurt with a clean paper towel to avoid burning. Season with 1 teaspoon lemon pepper.
- Place the lamb steak on a hot grill. Add 10 stalks of fresh asparagus to the grill right away.
- Grill the lamb for 5 minutes on each side for a medium-rare steak. The steak should release off the grill easily once it’s cooked enough.
- Let the steak stand for 10 minutes before eating to seal in the juices, ensuring a tender and juicy steak.
Notes
- Adjust seasonings depending on the size of your lamb steak, as it might be hard to get exactly 4 oz of meat.
- You can also use lamb chops in this recipe.
- Feel free to use whatever vegetables you have on hand; carrots, eggplant, zucchini, green beans, and onions are great on the grill.
