Greek Chicken Gyros are a delicious and healthy Mediterranean dish, featuring marinated chicken, fresh vegetables, and creamy tzatziki sauce, all wrapped in a warm pita bread. Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cucumber, grated and excess liquid squeezed out
- 1/2 cup fresh dill, chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 1 tomato, thinly sliced
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- Lettuce leaves, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Add chicken breasts to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook chicken breasts for 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and charred.
- Remove chicken from grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
- In another bowl, combine grated cucumber, chopped dill, chopped parsley, red wine vinegar, salt, and pepper to taste to make the tzatziki sauce.
- Warm pita breads on the grill or in a pan until lightly toasted.
- To assemble, spread tzatziki sauce on each pita bread. Top with sliced chicken, tomato slices, red onion slices, and lettuce leaves.
- Roll up tightly and secure with toothpicks if necessary. Serve immediately.

- Marinate the chicken overnight for the best flavor.
- You can add more vegetables or change the herbs in the tzatziki sauce according to your taste.
