Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cucumber, grated and excess liquid squeezed out
  • 1/2 cup fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • Lettuce leaves, for serving

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Add chicken breasts to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  • Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook chicken breasts for 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and charred.
  • Remove chicken from grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
  • In another bowl, combine grated cucumber, chopped dill, chopped parsley, red wine vinegar, salt, and pepper to taste to make the tzatziki sauce.
  • Warm pita breads on the grill or in a pan until lightly toasted.
  • To assemble, spread tzatziki sauce on each pita bread. Top with sliced chicken, tomato slices, red onion slices, and lettuce leaves.
  • Roll up tightly and secure with toothpicks if necessary. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Marinate the chicken overnight for the best flavor.
  • You can add more vegetables or change the herbs in the tzatziki sauce according to your taste.
