  • Author: Wendy Balderas
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: Makes about 2 cups 1x

Description

A festive and easy-to-make marmalade combining the bright flavors of fresh cranberries and oranges, perfect for holiday breakfasts or as a thoughtful homemade gift.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups fresh cranberries
  • 2 oranges (zest and juice)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  • Wash the oranges thoroughly, then grate the zest and squeeze the juice.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, orange zest, orange juice, sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves, nutmeg, and water.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and let cool for 5-10 minutes.
  • Transfer the marmalade to sterilized jars and seal tightly. Allow to cool completely before refrigerating.

Notes

  • Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
  • Stir the mixture occasionally to prevent burning and ensure even cooking.
  • Properly sealed jars can keep the marmalade fresh for several months in the refrigerator.
