  • 1 large cabbage, chopped
  • 2 small onions, diced
  • 2 cans stewed tomatoes
  • 1 pouch Lipton Onion Soup Mix (any flavor)
  • 1 large celery stalk, finely chopped
  • 12 pounds ground beef
  • Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (to taste)

Instructions

  • Boil Vegetables: Fill a large saucepan halfway with water and bring to a boil. Add chopped cabbage, diced onions, chopped celery, and stewed tomatoes. Reduce heat and let simmer.
  • Cook Ground Beef: In a separate pan, cook ground beef over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  • Season and Combine: Stir in the Lipton Onion Soup Mix and any spices of choice (salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika) into the simmering vegetables.
  • Combine and Simmer: Add the cooked ground beef to the pot. Stir and let the soup simmer for a few more minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  • Taste and Adjust: Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Let simmer for an additional 2–3 minutes before serving.

Notes

This cabbage soup can be frozen for up to 3 months, making it a convenient make-ahead meal. For added variety, incorporate extra veggies or spices to suit your taste. Adjust the water content for a thicker or thinner soup based on your preference.
