Cheddar Ranch Chicken Burgers Recipe

  • Author: Wendy Balderas

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing
  • Olive oil for cooking (optional)
  • Burger buns (4 buns)
  • Toppings of choice (lettuce, tomato, onion, extra ranch dressing, etc.)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Chicken Mixture:

  • In a large mixing bowl, add the ground chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, ranch dressing, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Using clean hands or a spoon, thoroughly combine the ingredients until evenly mixed. Ensure the cheese and ranch dressing are well-distributed throughout the chicken mixture for maximum flavor.

2. Form the Patties:

  • Divide the chicken mixture into four equal portions.
  • Shape each portion into a round patty, about 1/2 inch thick. Try to make the patties evenly sized for uniform cooking.

3. Cook the Burgers:

  • Skillet Method (optional):
    • Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Place the chicken patties in the skillet, ensuring there is space between each patty to allow for even cooking.
    • Cook the patties for approximately 5-6 minutes per side. Flip only once to avoid breaking the patties.
    • Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature has reached 165°F (75°C).
  • Grill Method:
    • Preheat your grill to medium heat and lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
    • Place the patties directly on the grill and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, flipping once.
    • Again, ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

4. Assemble the Burgers:

  • Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster if desired.
  • Place the cooked chicken patties on the bottom halves of the buns.
  • Add your preferred toppings, such as fresh lettuce, sliced tomatoes, onions, or additional ranch dressing for extra flavor.
  • Top with the other half of the burger bun.

5. Serve:

  • Serve the Cheddar Ranch Chicken Burgers immediately while hot.
  • Pair the burgers with a side of crispy fries, a fresh garden salad, or sweet potato wedges for a complete meal.
